Next, explore the Kharkhorin Museum for a deep dive into the era of Chinggis Khan and his vast empire. Your accommodation will be a traditional ger camp, providing a unique overnight experience.
Depart Kharkhorum and embark on the scenic drive to the Orkhon Valley. Enjoy the changing landscapes and glimpses of nomadic life. Settle into your ger. Visit the Orkhon inscriptions, significant ancient stone monuments that mark the legacy of the Turkic and Mongol empires. Hike to the Orkhon Waterfall, also known as Ulaan Tsutgalan, and learn about the geological forces that shaped the valley's landscape. Participate in a cultural exchange session with local nomadic families. Learn about their lifestyle, traditions, and the modern challenges they face.
Greet the sunrise and prepare for a day exploring the Mini Gobi with the Zaya team, en route to UB. This excursion offers a contrasting experience to the lush valleys, with calming and distinct landscapes. Climb the dunes to take in the picturesque views, a moment of tranquility in the vastness. While not included a ride on a Bactrian camel comes highly recommended for a complete desert experience. Enjoy the freedom to wander in the afternoon and evening, observing nomadic life as herders look after their livestock. This experience provides a glimpse into a serene, simple way of life. Conclude your journey by spending the night in a herder family's ger, embracing the nomadic lifestyle.
Conclude your expedition with a leisurely morning in Elsen Tasarkhai for last-minute souvenirs, followed by a scenic drive back to Ulaanbaatar. Share a farewell lunch on the road, arriving in the city by early evening, enriched with memories of Mongolia's vast landscapes and warm hospitality.
